Ditch Happenings June 22th - 26th

Posted on June 26, 2015 at 3:57 PM by Acacia Wytaske

Three ditch items were on the agenda at this week's Blue Earth County Commissioners Board Meeting.

  1. For inspection reports, tile repairs were approved on JD36 (Butternut Valley Township).
  2. A public hearing on the petition for partial abandonment of CD96 (Danville Township) took place. The petition was granted. Visit the DrainageDB Portal if you'd like to view the petition under the CD96 file. There were quite a few comments from the public during the hearing. Follow the link below to watch the hearing in its entirety.
  3. The Bid for Repairs on CD12 Phase 1 (Mankato Township) was awarded to Forsberg Drainage from Dunnell, MN. Construction will begin soon and is estimated for completion by December 1, 2015.

You can watch the meeting on YouTube by visiting this link: Blue Earth County YouTube Channel.

Cool Event Alert:

Next Week on Tuesday, June 30th, the Le Sueur River Watershed Network is hosting a Community Meeting & Paddle.  You'll canoe down the Le Sueur River with river researcher, Patrick Belmont and learn about the watershed. Please visit their website if you are interested in participating. The event is free and open to the public but requires an RSVP. I have a prior commitment, so unfortunately, I'm not available to go, but I wish I could!

Curious to know what watersheds are where? Check out my favorite map!
The aqua green color in the upper left of the image covers the Watonwan River Watershed, the green covers the Blue Earth River Watershed and the blue covers the Le Sueur River Watershed. The heart of MN.
