Ditch Happenings Nov. 9th - 13th

Posted on November 16, 2015 at 8:09 AM by Acacia Wytaske

Craig Austinson, Ditch Manager, held an informational meeting for landowners on CD50 (Lincoln & Butternut Townships) on Tuesday, November 10th.  The landowners that were present agreed that the issue on Branch 13 and Lateral P should be further investigated. Craig will be meeting the landowner, who is also the contractor for the proposed project, on Monday, to discuss options.

I spent the week in the office preparing for the 2016 ditch assessments. This task involves bringing items to the board for approval and then setting up the ditch assessments in our tax system database, Aumentum.  When I reference ditch assessments here, I am referring to the annual ditch levies.

We were closed on Wednesday, November 11th, in observance of Veteran's Day. Thank you to all our Veterans for your service! I spent the morning checking out the newly paved Sakatah trail and biked out to Okaman Elk Farm in Elysian. I biked right over JD34 (Le Ray Township).  Did you know it crosses under the trail in Section 5?  Here's a picture at the Eagle Lake Pier from my ride:

For next week's blog, I'll have a recap of the November 17th Board of Commisioners Meeting and our DrainageDB User Group Meeting.
