September is National Preparedness Month!

National Preparedness Month was founded after 9/11 to increase preparedness in the United States.  September 11, 2011 marks the ten-year anniversary of 9/11.

Emergencies can happen anywhere, anytime and without notice. Most often they happen when we least expect it.  Preparing can start with three important steps:

1.) Get an emergency supply kit

2.)  Make a plan for what to do in an emergency

3.) Be informed about emergencies that could happen and identify sources of information in your community that will be helpful before, after and during an emergency.

The following are some resource lists to help with planning for yourself, your family and your pets in the event of an emergency.
