When adults are physically or mentally impaired and need 24-hour care, the Blue Earth County Adult Foster Care program may be an excellent option. Foster Care can also help the elderly, mentally ill, and developmentally disabled stay in the community when they cannot live alone.
Besides providing a bedroom and meals, you can expect that providers will supervise and help with personal care like dressing and bathing; do laundry; and support attendance at day programming, work or school. If needed, providers will also help with medications, budgeting, transportation or other tasks. Providers encourage self reliance, yet help when tasks are too difficult.
