SEARCH METHODS

Search the Blue Earth County Property Information System in one of two ways: Given that the Property Information System is based on physical location of the property, if you have the parcel number, you may find that is the easiest way to find a specific property quickly.

The next easiest search method is to enter just the house number and nothing else and you'll get a list of all matching house numbers in the county to scroll through to find the one you want.

ADDRESS SEARCH TIPS

You may search by address in three different ways:
Search by house number only.
  1. Enter the house number only.
  2. Click on the "By House number" Go button
  3. You'll get a list of all matching house numbers in the county to scroll through to find the address you're looking for.
  4. Once you find the address you want, click the button in front of it for more information.
Search by street name only.
  1. Enter the street name only
  2. Click on the "By Street Name" Go button
  3. You'll get a list of all addresses on that street to select the one you want.
  4. Once you find the address you want, click the button in front of it for more information.

Search by full address.

This is an exact match search, so you must spell the street name correctly, use the correct abbreviation (Ave, Av, St, Dr, etc), not use punctuation and click on the city or township where the property is physically located.

  1. Enter the full street name including any abbreviations or direction indicator
  2. Make sure you've spelled everything correctly
  3. Click on the "Go" button next to the City or Township where the property is located
  4. If everything is correct, you will go directly to detailed information about that property.
  5. IF you have problems, try the house number only or street name only searches; they are more forgiving.

Tips for best full address search results

2. Try Alternative Spellings For &Quot;Avenue&Quot; And/Or Numerical Street Names:
Various parts of the County differ in how they abbreviate Avenue (AV or AVE) and how they spell numerical street names (for example: First St, or 1st St, or 1 St?).

For example, if SECOND AVE is not getting the result you want, try SECOND AV, then 2 AV, 2ND AV, etc.

3. Click The Correct City Or Township Button
-For city addresses: click on the specific city.
-For rural addresses: click on the specific township.
-For townsite addresses: click on the specific township.
(Cambria, Garden City, Judson, LeHillier, Rapidan, and South Bend are townsites)

Frequently Asked/Answered Questions

HOW OFTEN IS THE PROPERTY DATA ON THIS SYSTEM UPDATED?:
The data is updated once a week.

WHO DO I CONTACT IF I HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PROPERTY DATA, VALUES, AMOUNTS, ETC.?:
Contact the Land Records Department at taxhelp@co.blue-earth.mn.us

WHO DO I CONTACT IF I HAVE TECHNICAL COMPUTER OR INTERNET QUESTIONS?:
Send email to taxtech@co.blue-earth.mn.us

WHAT IF I DON'T KNOW THE CITY OR TOWNSHIP?:
Try searching on just the house number, or just the street name.

WHAT'S DIFFERENT ABOUT 5-DIGIT HOUSE NUMBERS?:
5-digit house numbers indicate that the address is in a rural area. For most efficient searching when using 5-digit house numbers, enter the house number only, and click on the "By House Number" Go button.

FULL ADDRESS SEARCH: DO I CLICK ON CITY OR TOWNSHIP WHEN SEARCHING FOR RURAL ADDRESSES?:
When searching by full address for a rural parcel, enter the address, then click on the appropriate township button.

Why? Rural property tax addresses use the actual township in which the parcel is located. However, you may see the same parcel listed in the phone book with a city next to it. That city in the phone book is based on the parcel's zip code and simply identifies where mail is delivered. Disregard phone book and US Mail information when looking for rural addresses with this system, it may or may not match at all.

For example: A rural parcel on 563 AV is listed in the phonebook as "Good Thunder". For most efficient searching, disregard Good Thunder and click on "Lyra Township" instead. (To find the township your property is located in, use our handy Township map.)

HOW DO I FIND AG PROPERTY THAT DOESN'T HAVE A STREET ADDRESS?:
Agricultural property without a house does not have a street address. You must search for these parcels by parcel number, not by address. Parcel number can be found on your property tax statement, your "Notice of Your Property's Market Value and Property Class", or other legal documents.

WHY ISN'T THERE A CITY BUTTON FOR THIS TOWN?:
You may be searching for a parcel in a townsite (unincorporated city.) Townsites are not true incorporated cities, and their property tax addresses use the township in which they are located.

Enter the address, then click on the appropriate township button for most efficient searching.

What townsites are unincorporated?
Beauford
Cambria
Garden City
Judson
LeHillier
South Bend
Rapidan
Smith's Mill
